ANNUAL REPORT 2015
FRASERS HOSPITALITY TRUST
ENVIRONMENT (CONT’D)
We have systematically reviewed the management of environmental
protection at each of our Frasers managed property in FY2015. An
Environmental Committee has been established at each property with targets
and an environmental action plan to continuously improve performance.
A
Go Green
programme has been implemented in all of our serviced
apartments to engage employees, suppliers, guests and the community. Topics
covered include limiting the use of laundry services to conserve water and
energy. One of the initiatives implemented for the reduction of waste is the
removal of excessive packaging of toiletries and amenity products.
Energy Use and Climate Change
Energy use and GHG are important sustainability assessment. Low energy
consumption can be supported by the materials used and the equipment
installed. When equipment for the properties are purchased, energy efficiency
is part of our considerations. Where possible, we replace our equipment with
better energy efficient features.
The total energy consumption for Frasers managed properties in FY2015
compared to FY2014 was lower by 5% at 9.02 million kWh. The energy intensity
at 156.4 kWh/m
2 2
was also 5% lower compared to FY2014. Energy intensity is
calculated by dividing the total energy consumption by the total gross floor
area (“GFA”). Both total GHG emissions and GHG intensity were 8% lower
in FY2015 at 4.02 million tonnes of CO
2
e and 69.7 tonnes CO
2
e/m
2
. GHG
intensity is defined as total GHG emissions divided by total GFA.

Out of the 8 properties managed by property operator, Frasers Hospitality Pte Ltd, energy and greenhouse data are not available for Fraser
Suites Sydney. Environmental data was based on whole building consumption. Greenhouse gas emission factors are from i) Singapore Energy
Statistics 2015 and ii) the United Kingdom’s Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), accessed 20 October 2015.
ENVIRONMENTAL AWARDS
Environmentally efficient properties are better positioned in the marketplace. As such we continuously seek to
go beyond compliance. Awards are:
• Silver Award 2014 by the Green Tourism Business Scheme for Fraser Suites Edinburgh
• Bronze in the Green Tourism Business Scheme for Best Western Cromwell London
• Building and Construction Authority’s Green Mark Gold Plus Certification for InterContinental Singapore
(managed by IHG Group)
CARE FOR THE
ENVIRONMENT
In conjunction with Earth
Hour, Frasers Hospitality
has designated March as
Frasers Environment Month,
during which a series of
initiatives and campaigns to
contribute to the good cause
of environment are carried
out. In FY2015, employees of
Fraser Suites Sydney cleaned
up Bondi Beach. Over in
Singapore, employees of
Fraser Suites Singapore also
participated in a Singapore
beach clean up.
